A Little Bit of This and a Lotta Snow! from The Modern Diary

Barb and I got our A Quilting Life BOM made right away this month.
Bekcy completed her "Ruby" Jubilee!  LOVE IT!
I just got the Merry Mayhem New Year's  mystery back from Melissa and got the binding on it yesterday and today.  I am keeping this one for a fall quilt.
We got dumped with a boatload of snow yesterday!
I completed four more green RSC blocks in the larger size this past week.  I also had a stomach bug so did not get much more sewed!

Finishes, So Many Finishes! from The Modern Diary

Becky sent me this awesome snowman wall hanging for Christmas.  I love it!

I had my Ocrevous infusion mid February.  Took Babel to read but was hit super hard by the Benadryl so I had to start it over that night.  Five stars, I really liked it!
I continued to do a row a week on my Sparkling New Year mystery quilt.

I got the first border on it.  It is a little wavy even though I did my usual measuring method.
Today I got the final border on it and I am happy with it!

I spent all day ...

Ruby Jubilee Becomes a Flimsy! from The Modern Diary

The reveal of Ruby Jubilee came out in Quiltmaker and I did not care for all the whitespace or for the block placement with clusters of the same block together.  I decided I would add in other blocks and parts and switch it up.  Then I saw Bonnie Hunter had the same idea!  I love every quilt Bonnie has ever designed so I knew I would be happy with it and I plunged in copying her.  My friend Becky did the same.  I made four, yes four, churn dash blocks before I got the right size thanks to help from ...

Lots of Sewing Going On! from The Modern Diary

My August UFO became a top last week.  These are all the Quiltmaker Bitty Block Houses I made starting at lockdown until I got tired of making one a day.
This is my Kimberly quilt top from Gudren's quiltalong the end of July.  I made my own layer cake and like how warm and fallish it looks.
I quilted and bound this Simple Gifts baby quilt that has been patiently waiting for me to do.
I did the September Butterfly Bush and Log Cabin Love blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
Becky finished clue five of the Ruby Jubilee ...

Sewing with Friends! from The Modern Diary

I put a border on my Boo Crew Quilt!

Becky and Barb and I worked on our Soul Mates Mystery Sewalong a few weeks ago and got the tops together.  My borders went on later that week.  Not the greatest picture as it is too big to lay out inside and I have not had the energy to take it outside in the heat!
Here is Becky's.  So fun to see two quilts in the same colors still be so different!

I got out my daughter's old dollhouse for Hazel (who will be two in September) and she ...

Lots of Progress! from The Modern Diary

Hazel is really into her baby doll these days.  She puts her down to nap and covers her up and feeds her her bottle and even sings rock a bye Hazel (instead of baby, lol) to her.  Does not get any cuter!
Here is my Ruby Jubilee for the next Quiltmaker clue and in purple is Becky's.

Barb has not started hers in green yet.

Barb and I really enjoyed working on the Scavenger Hunt Kim Diehl Mystery Sewalong.  Here is is coming along.

Here is Barb's in lighter fabrics.
And the last clue came out today so ...

Soul Mates with my Sewing Buddies! from The Modern Diary

Soul Mates clue one is done!  Barb and I sewed with Becky on Saturday afternoon, and we managed to complete our clue one already.  Here are my fabrics again.

Here are my block A's.  I am pretty happy with them.

Becky also decided to go with blue and brown.  Looking forward to seeing how our different fabrics in the same colors turn out!
Here is Becky's block A.

Here are Barb's blocks in Quilt of Valor colors.  This will be gorgeous too!

These gorgeous blocks are Becky's Ruby Jubilee aka Amythyst Jubilee.  She and I and ...

Ruby Jubilee and Lori Holt Block Progress from The Modern Diary

Finished up Ruby Jubilee part three I think it was.  Barb's is looking great in green.
Becky's is looking great in purple too!
The UFO # for this month brought up my Lori Holt blocks...I finally came up with a plan to make these blocks to put between those.  I will be making two quilt tops, but no rush.  Hoping to get these blocks made this month.  I started out by using four patches and cut up squares that were already waiting for a use.  If I am not happy with them I may switch them all up ...

Ruby, Emerald and Amethyst Jubilee! from The Modern Diary

I managed to get my Ruby Jubilee part two clue done in the past week or two.  Moth in the Window above and Grandpa's Star below.
Spinning Stars.
Jack in the Box.
All the part two parts.
Stacked up clue one and clue two.
Bonus hst's.
Becky joined late and whipped up clue one followed rapidly by clue two. Love her purples!
Even Barb beat me on completion (which she is still shocked about) with her Emerald green version.

Much Sewing and Reading but Behind on the Blogging! from The Modern Diary

Kathy brought me some pretty flowers.  I got the blocks cut for Ruby Jubilee part two.
I spent much of February working on Wild and Goosey blocks so I could add another row to my top.  I love this add a quarter ruler for trimming up after each piece.

I added the row and deemed the top finished--finally.  I think I started this in 2013.  Each block takes an hour or so and it is 9x8 so many blocks, hours, scraps!  This was my American Patchwork and Quilting UFO for February.

I made a few more little trees while I ...

Valentine's Mini Mystery and Ruby Jubilee in Other Colors! from The Modern Diary

I finished up the flimsy for Kathleen Tracy's Mini Valentine Mystery today.  Nice and simple.  Barb's is below though she added a roses border on hers and it is cute!

I sewed with Becky a few days ago and convinced her to start Ruby Jubilee! She wasted no time in picking out fabrics and whipping these up.  She was my blogging friend before I moved to Arizona and we lived close enough together out there to be in the same guild!  You may remember we did the Quiltville cruise together and lots of hiking too.  Now we sew ...

Attic Stars, Ruby Jubilee and Favorite Books of 2021! from The Modern Diary

I decided that when R Trail is over I will start Ruby Jubilee from Quiltmaker.  It is a mystery of sorts with blocks from Bonnie Hunter, but designed by someone else.  I have always wanted a red and white quilt.  I picked up Kona Cotton white at the door of JoAnn's.  I got a smoking deal too so that was nice.  I really should have just gone scrappy with what I have, but I mostly seem to have cream lights left and so...For Christmas Kathy got me a bunch of half yards of red for this quilt and ...
